There’s no arguing that the Beastie Boys changed the world through their music. The only arguing that happens in regards to the Beastie Boys is about where Licensed to Ill, Hello Nasty and Paul’s Boutique rank in their oeuvre. Now we all get to dive deeper into the story of the Beastie Boys in a way the Beastie Boys Book didn’t even cover because Academy Award Winner Spike Jonze has an upcoming live documentary about the band that’s appropriately titled the Beastie Boys Story. This is the first trailer for the film that sees “Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz tell you an intimate, personal story of their band and 40 years of friendship in this live documentary experience directed by their longtime friend and collaborator and former hall monitor, Spike Jonze.” It’s going to be amazing. Beastie Boys Story is coming to IMAX on April 2nd and the Apple TV app on April 24th.
