Just off Namibia’s Skeleton Coast—Top 5 coast name, by the way—is litany of shipwrecks. Foggy conditions and rocks caused the demise of many boats over the years. We don’t recommend sleeping in one of those shipwrecks, but we do recommend sleeping in one of these. Natural Selection, an African safari excursion company, built Shipwreck Lodge to look a little like the shipwrecks that exist just off the coast. A stay at Shipwreck Lodge puts the Atlantic right outside your door. But gazing at those capsized boats is far from all you’ll be able to do should you book a stay. You can take a game drive and see elephants and, if you’re lucky, lions. You can explore the desert flora. You can even comb the beach for whale bones, as they are what gave the coast its kickass name. And you can do it all while resting your head inside a structure that looks like it once lived on the sea.
