Moon Express was founded in 2010 by a group of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs with the goal of winning the Google Lunar X prize. Ultimately, that would mean commercial missions to the Moon to turn it into the 8th continent ripe for mining of natural resources to make everyone involved rich, but we’d like to think they’re keeping with their goal of “redefining possible” in order to unlock the mysteries and resources of the Moon for the benefit of humanity. Described by the Moon Express team as Earth’s 8th continent, the lunar surface that would ultimately be immortalized by the first of the Apollo missions in the late ’60s is also of huge economic and social importance to the private sector, which is exactly what the team hopes to expound upon with their series of commercial voyages to the Moon. If you’re willing to shell out some serious coin, you can help Moon Express “redefine the possible” by exploring the Moon for new knowledge and resources.
