5 Days in Iceland

5 Days in Iceland

Iceland has been on our bucket list for years. Every time we’d see a photo of the country’s beautiful valleys, towering mountains, majestic blue oceans, and lively cityscapes, our desire to get up and go grew. So, when Reyka Vodka asked if we’d be interested in heading out to Reykjavik for a few days and checking out their distillery in Borgarnes (a beautiful hour-long drive due north of Reykjavik), we said something like, “Hell fucking yes.”

The ensuing experiences were nothing short of priceless. We snorkeled between two tectonic plates in water that was around 0° Celsius. We cruised around a glacier in an off-road truck while Black Sabbath blared in the background. We took a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon. Not only did we eat the infamous fermented shark, but we slammed a shot of Reyka and chugged a beer to wash it all down. And yes, we [very, very responsibly] drank a ton of Reyka vodka while we did it.

Iceland is easily one of the most naturally picturesque places we’ve ever been, and we think these photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!
