Anything described as a “21st Century Taxi Driver” is going to get our attention. When that film also happens to star Joaquin Phoenix and is the recipient of a few Cannes Film Festival awards, well, it’s getting thrown on our “Must Watch” list, pronto. Here’s your first look at You Were Never Really Here, which sees Phoenix play the role of a violent enforcer on a mission to rescue a missing girl. We’re fans of a lot of Joaquin Phoenix-led movies, and a seven-minute standing ovation at Cannes sure makes us think this is the next film of his we’ll love. You Were Never Really Here hits theaters in April of next year.
