Tom Hardy is an actor we just trust. Mad Max? Gold. Peaky Blinders? Hell yes. Warrior, Child 44, and Dunkirk? Yup, yup, and yup. That means we’re game for anything he signed on for, regardless of how trepidatious we might be upon seeing the teaser trailer. Enter Venom. Yes, Spiderman’s Venom. The coming film from Sony sees Hardy take up the roll of Eddie Brock, a journalist turned alien host who is investigating Carlton Rake (Riz Ahmed). No clue whether Spiderman is even part of this movie (we suspect at most we’ll get a tiny cameo). Venom hits theaters October 5.
