The yakuza are a group ripe for film. Instead, we get a half-dozen American mob movies every year that barely move the needle. Netflix subscribers are in luck, however, as Jared Leto is set to star in The Outsider, a series set in post-WWII Japan about an American soldier navigating the dangerous world of the yakuza. Leto has quietly become one of our favorite actors and, Suicide Squad aside, he’s chosen some great project, giving us high hopes for this show. It hits Netflix on March 9 but you can get your first look here.
