Seen It All, Directed by Spike Lee, Celebrates 50 Years of Nike

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Nike, so the iconic sneaker brand enlisted Spike Lee, who has collaborated with them in the past, to direct a short promotional film. Seen It All celebrates Nike’s legacy, showcasing the immensely talented athletes that have represented the brand. But, it also is an optimistic look forward at the up-and-coming athletes who are sure to dominate their respective sports.

In the short film, Lee, playing his recurring character Mars Blackmon, has a charming repartee with Zimmie, played by Indigo Hubbard-Salk, about the past versus the future, about whether the next generation can live up to the impressive feats of the past. And the short film, and Nike itself, seems to be hopeful and encouraged about what’s to come. Throughout the video, the pair namedrop up to 40 athletes that have represented the Nike brand including Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Naomi Osaka, and Chloe Kim.

Along with the short film, Nike released a press release echoing that optimism: “Over the past 50 years, Nike has been a champion for athletes and sport and will remain true to that.” Watch the full video here.
