We don’t know what to make of Gotti, the coming mob movie that stars John Travolta as the legendary boss of the Gambino family. On one hand, we love a good mafia flick, and count many among our favorite films. On the other hand, any time a film gets delayed just weeks before its release (Gotti was supposed to hit theaters in December 2017), it often means it shouldn’t get released at all. Alas, Gotti is still on the way, with a June 15 premiere date. The official trailer, just released, is filled with mob movie clichés—a voiceover describes the protagonist’s determined rise from city kid to made man, guns are fired from rigidly straight arms, etc.—but we’re willing to give it all a shot.
