The story of the singer in a big city trying to make it has splashed across the big screen numerous times. It’s time to take a trip away from the hustle and bustle of urban blocks and dip into the tale of Blaze Foley. The country singer from Texas, who befriended Townes Van Zandt and performed throughout the South, is somewhat of an underappreciated genius. Now the late artist is getting a biopic entitled Blaze thanks to Ethan Hawke, who directed to the film, and while we don’t want to get our hopes up too soon, it looks really good. Blaze Foley was Texas outlaw music and he inspired the likes of Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, to name a few. His story deserves proper treatment, and we think this could be it.
