If you’re anything like us, the amount of emails you get on a daily basis is almost insurmountable. Gmail does their best to make things easy with smart filters, categories and other features, but the loss of Inbox was a huge blow to daily productivity. The new Simplify Chrome extension can alleviate some of that inbox stress by decluttering gmail. Designed and built my Michael Leggett–Gmail’s lead designer from 2008 to 2012 and co-founder of Google Inbox–Simplify strips down the standard Gmail UI so you can easily focus on taking care of all of your emails. The compose button gets moved to the bottom right. The enormous Search bar gets moved to a simple magnifying glass in the upper right. All your interaction buttons like archive, mark as spam, delete, filters, etc. are moved to a simple top nav bar. Everything that interferes with the actual emails, including the Gmail logo, gets removed or pushed to the outskirts so you can actually focus on what’s important. It’s also totally free and incredibly easy-to-use.
