The A7 (or really, A7 series, since the company released two versions of the camera) is another compact and lightweight offering from Sony, something they’ve become known for, only this one is a little different. It sports a mirrorless system with a full-frame, 35mm sensor. The cameras also allow the use of any of the E-mount lenses Sony has made. Basically, it’s one of the first compact cameras to make a huge attempt to peel some people away from their pro DSLRs. Whether you go with the 24MP A7 or its impressive 36MP brethren, you’re going to be getting a solid camera at a price (the big difference being that the A7R does not have the hybrid autofocus the A7 does due to that crazy amount of megapixels). The two should be on shelves by the end of the year.
