Ever since we first saw their Capture Camera Clip System that seamlessly and effortlessly attached your camera to your person, we knew we’d be seeing a lot more great camera gear from Peak Design. They already tackled camera bags, and now they’ve turned their eyes to the one other piece of camera equipment everyone hates traveling with–the tripod. Unlike traditional tripods that have way too much negative space, Peak Design’s Travel Tripod fits together so tightly that you can fit it into a side pocket on a bag and wrap your hand around it. But they didn’t stop there on their four year quest to redesign the tripod. For starters, it’s made out of aluminum or carbon fiber, so it’s incredibly lightweight. It deploys from packed to a full 60″ in height in around ten seconds. The camera mount itself is quick-release, easily supports full-frame DSLRs with a telephoto lens and lets you easily adjust for the perfect shot with a single articulating adjustment ring. As if reinventing the tripod from the ground up wasn’t enough, they even developed a folding phone mount that stores securely in the tripod.
