Nothing Phone 1

Nothing Phone 1

There’s next to nothing to report on the Nothing phone (1), which is not us restating the same joke the company’s making with their name. What we know right now is that Nothing is releasing a phone this summer. It’s powered by a Qualcomm processor, it’ll be unique looking, and is built on a brand new OS, the Nothing OS. We don’t know what it actually looks like, what specific processor it has, or what the price is. The main reason this is even news is because Nothing founder Carl Pei has a history of delivering on promises, like how the first few OnePlus phones delivered good products that undercut overpriced rivals and how much Pei likes selling his products direct to consumers. Plus, the only other product from Nothing, the ear (1) was generally well-received, even if it wasn’t the blockbuster release that some expected. All of it taken together has us excited but healthily skeptical.
