We live in a nostalgia-filled world where everything that’s old is new again. Whether you were once a budding Christopher Nolan, Steven Spielberg or J.J. Abrams, or you’re a fan of film and have old reels collecting dust in your parents’ basement, the MovieMaker-Pro will help you digitize your old film reels. The fully automated machine is designed to digitize old 8mm and Super 8 film reels frame-by-frame without a computer, software or drivers. If you’ve spent any amount of time converting analog formats to modern digital ones, you know how much of a pain doing it on the computer is, so having a separate, dedicated machine is a much better option, in our opinion. More importantly, if you have a lot of reels to convert, the MovieMaker-Pro is significantly cheaper than sending your reels out to be digitized by someone else. There’s even an option to playback to TV using the included cable, but we suspect many of you will go straight to disk for archiving and sharing purposes.
