The Leica X-U Typ 113 is the latest addition to the Leica X line, and if it looks a little different from the other options you’ve seen come out of Leica that’s because it is. The X-U skips vintage styling and leather accents in favor of an extremely rugged expedition package that’s shockproof, dust and water sealed. It’s water up to a depth of 15 meters or 49 feet for an hour. It has an anti-slip rubber exterior for a secure grip whether you’re shooting in the rain, heat or the snow. There’s even a built-in flash mounted on the 35mm f/1.7 lens so you don’t have to mess with the shoe or accessories. While it might look a little bit different than the other Leica options you’re familiar with, the ruggedness you get in return will be worth it for some of you.
