The issue we have with most cameras is the fact that all the really cool features we want to play with are buried behind layer after layer of button pushing. Most reek of needing the Steve Jobs treatment. Canon is taking the first step in eliminating this problem with the T4i. Available later this month, the latest DSLR from Canon features a touchscreen display that you can swipe and pinch to zoom in an effort to make navigation less confusing. The ability to shoot stellar video—thanks to the sensor-based hybrid AF system—will likely be one of the main reasons you’d consider dropping a sizable chunk of change on the 18 megapixel Rebel. Sound for your video also gets a bump up in quality thanks to a built-in stereo mic. Looks like we’ll be wearing this around more often this summer.
