Braun X Virgil Abloh – The Wandelage Reimagined

Braun X Virgil Abloh – The Wandelage Reimagined

A good sound system puts you in awe of the wonders of sound, but a great one also captivates you visually. The 1965 Dieter Rams Wandanlage is just one of those systems. Rams designed the wall system for Braun, and it’s still an icon. For Braun’s 100th anniversary, Off-White founder and artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear, Virgil Abloh, put his capable eyes on it for a 21st-century update. The 2021 version stands as a functional art piece with its chrome finish and crisp design. The overall look combines Braun’s clean look and Abloh’s cultural and musical references from the past century. Perhaps most importantly, the technology functions perfectly, and the result is a balletic look and symphonic sound in a piece of art that will last for the next 100 years. Abloh has also remixed a track, available on his Soundcloud page, as an homage to Braun’s design influence. Braun has also released an exclusive song and a video of Abloh’s reimagined Wandelage.
