Brand New Roman Is a Font Made of Iconic Brand Logos

Brand logos are some of the most memorable imagery in the world. McDonald’s. Champion. Internet Explorer. Kellogg’s. Suzuki. Amazon. The list goes on and on. The studio Hello Velocity made a font composed of pieces of iconic logos called Brand New Roman. As Dezeen reported, “When designing the font, the design team tried to only use certain logos that act, or can act, as standalone branding elements—avoiding extracting one letter from a logo that is normally composed of multiple characters.” This ended up an issue with the letter “I,” which they had to make using the uppercase from IBM and the lowercase from iomega. There are even some logos that evolve from multiple entries of the same letter. Put in four Os and you’ll get the Audi logo. Add a fifth and you’ll get the Olympics logo. You can head to the site below to check it out in your browser or download the full font for all your ransom letter writing needs.
