We know you probably already have at least one of the three most popular streaming set top boxes on the market, but you’re still going to want an Amazon Fire TV. The tech specs alone put it far above the competitors: quad-core processor (most others are single-core), 2GB of memory (most others are 512MB), Certified Dolby Digital Plus surround sound and optical audio out. You’re not going to disassemble the Fire TV and look inside, so those are great, but not the best parts. Fire TV has voice search. Yeah, voice search. Hold the remote to your mouth like you’re doing karaoke, tell the Fire TV what you want to watch and relax. It works with all the big streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Instand Video, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Pandora and Vevo), but trades HBO GO for Showtime Anytime. It also plays games (Minecraft, Telltale’s Walking Dead and NBA2k14 are just some of the 100+ available right now), along with having an optional controller for the serious gamer.
