Todd Snyder’s New Americans Is Your F/W Moodboard

Todd Snyder. The Prince of Prep. The Earl of East Coast Flair. The King of Collegiate. This man can do it all.

New Americans, the title of Snyder’s F/W 2022 campaign, shows us the far-reaching influence that classic Americana has had on Snyder’s career. Always a fan of his cold weather campaigns, New Americans is the pinnacle of a career set on turning sartorial basics into heirloom pieces.

Re-engineering American classics is nothing new, but Snyder’s approach is to play (and improve upon) tailoring and fabrics, taking elements from workwear, military, and street style. The collection includes a playful relationship with proportions, like oversized cricket sweaters, and more subtle changes to items such as carpenter pants in luxury fabrics and a corduroy suit that’s one part Yale and two parts Wes Anderson.

New Americans may be the theme of the campaign, but it’s also the directive of Snyder’s oeuvre – he’s pushing the menswear scene forward, one rugby stripe at a time.
