Rarely do the words ‘Timex’ and ‘exotic’ get mentioned in the same sentence unless the word ‘not’ is inserted. But all that changed with the arrival of the first Timex Giorgio Galli S1 automatic watch. Timex designer Giorgio Galli introduced it back in 2019, and it became an instant hit for the brand. He’s now returned with a smaller case (from 41 down to 38mm), and it’s just as glorious and even more accessible thanks to the new size. The stunning custom case details remain, as do the rich dial coloring, double-dome anti-reflective sapphire crystal, slotted markers, the synthetic red sapphire above the 6, and the Miyota 9039 automatic movement. Aside from the new case size, the 38mm version gets Super-LumiNova hands for better low-light visibility. Although it may be smaller in size, the new S1 38mm still has the same big style. This is one Timex that will get attention for what it is, rather than for what it is not.
