From custom bikes and Mustangs to Porsche Racing jackets and an entire Barbour collection, people have been creating or remaking products, rides and books based on the legacy of The King of Cool for some time. But no one ever properly tackled the iconic denim shirt you’ll find pictures of him wearing everywhere. Until now. With their Western Shirt in washed indigo, Taylor Stitch recreated Steve McQueen’s iconic denim shirt with some additional details that we’re confident the legend himself would approve of if he was still here to sign off on them. The most noticeable details from McQueen’s favorite shirt—like slanted front pockets, pointed front yolks and a single point back—are present and accounted for, but the build quality has been updated with 6.5oz Japanese selvage construction and YKK antique brass western snaps. In addition to the selvage construction you’ll find selvage accents on the inside placket, cuffs and gussets. The small batch shirt gets a heavy garment wash before heading in your direction, so it will show up to your door with the same broken-in look and feel you’d get after years of wear.
