The world of watch modding is easily dominated by the Seiko brand. You’ll find all manner of styles done up by guys who work their artistic magic on custom projects. Most mods are very affordable, too, so you can collect truly one-of-a-kind pieces that watch lovers will envy. Seiko just unveiled the winner (out of 48,000 submissions) of its own watch mod contest, known as the Custom Watch Beatmaker campaign. Seiko launched the campaign after the introduction of its redesigned and much-lauded Seiko 5 Sports collection. Some mods can be a bit crazy, but the winner is very cohesive and daily wearable. It actually pays homage to the beloved Seiko “Pogue” 6139 Chronograph from the ’70s with its gold dial and blue and red Pepsi bezel. The rest of the watch matches the Seiko 5 Sports diver with a 42.5mm case diameter, 100-meter water resistance, 4R36 automatic movement, and Hardlex (mineral) crystal. The 2,021-piece limited edition watch will go on sale in August.
