In the world of wristwatches, it’s hard to stand out, especially at an affordable price point. London-based Objest just introduced its animal and earth-friendly Hach V, which is intentionally vegan and PETA approved. In terms of design, consider the Hach V a sophisticated step up from the popular Swatch line of watches. The black DLC-coated case is actually lugless, providing a better fit on the wrist than its slightly large 42mm diameter would indicate. The dial has diagonal parallel lines spaced closely together, applied and polished circular hour markers, and simple matte finish baton hands. It’s minimalist but still remarkably stylish, and it nods to the horologically-minded thanks to its Swiss ETA 2824-2 mechanical automatic movement, which you can see through the display caseback. That movement’s rotor and the caseback perimeter mimic the parallel lines of the dial, a nice touch. The Hach V will go up on Kickstarter on February 2nd.
