We thought dropping $100 on a functioning Apple Newton Personal Digital Assistant was a lot of money, but apparently, $15K for a pair of Apple-branded adidas health shoes is part of reality, as well. Originally made for Apple employees back in the ’90s, a rare unworn pair of the homely kicks once surfaced back in 2017 to be snatched up at auction for about what it would cost you to buy one of every Apple product model today. Now, French walking shoe brand Mephisto has partnered with premium lifestyle retailer Concepts International to create a shoe that pays homage to the original in a much less, shall we say, geriatric permutation. The CCM-96 is clad in white leather with a white rubber outsole, a D-ring lacing system, and the Apple colorway on the tongue label. The pricey but not insanely expensive shoes go on sale today, and there are companion clothes in the form of hoodies and a t-shirt that all pay homage to Apple’s “Think Different” campaigns, which are priced at $35 and $90 respectively.
