CW&T Solid State Watch

As much as we love beautifully crafted, complex automatic watches, we are transfixed on the ingeniously rudimentary Solid State Watch. CW&T takes a Casio F-921 digital watch and encases it into a transparent resin case. You can’t change the time, use an alarm or a light. Hell, you can’t do anything with it other than tell the time, which the F-91 does remarkably well. It’s essentially been unchanged since its 1989 release because it’s so reliable and needs no intervention from the user to operate just about perfectly. The 10-year battery ensures solid longevity, and it’s both completely waterproof due to the impervious enclosure and viewable underwater from all angles due to the total absence of air. They brilliantly solve the Daylight Savings Time issue by recommending you use your memory or buy two watches, and the orange dot on the date means leap years are now irrelevant.
