Designing the Aiaiai TMA-1 Headphones

“While we’re getting plastered and jumping around on the floor, they’re actually doing a serious work.” Keep in mind this quote is from someone in Europe so DJs over there aren’t the standard Top 40 human iPods we’re used to here. They don’t need morning radio shows because they’re so good they’re selling out arenas and sleeping with your girlfriend. And these guys need serious headphones. Aiaiai set out to create a pair of high-quality, iconic, technologically advanced headphones with the TMA-1. Cool Hunting goes on location in Copenhagen to talk to the designers about what went through their heads to get the TMA-1s on yours. From the detachable wire on the headphones to the expandable strap designed with the same mechanism as crutches, Aiaiai didn’t leave anything out of the minimalistic TMA-1. Heirloom headphones.
