If you couldn’t tell from his name, Pierpaolo Lazzarini is Italian. That means he’s seen his fair share of Vespa scooters zipping around his home country. Lazzarini, a product designer by trade, decided to play with the concept of making the iconic Vespa 50 a water-ready machine. It works almost too well. Lazzarini imagined two different configurations, with one sporting an electric 39hp engine and an estimate cost of $25,000, and a second with a 330cc 39hp engine and a more affordable price tag of $19,000. As you can see from the renderings, the spirit of the classic Vespa is still very much alive in Lazzarini’s design. With speeds of up to 30 knots, this mod jet ski is equal parts looker and booker.
