Toyota hasn’t had a supercar since the 2012 Lexus LFA, so it’s big news when they debut the racing version of its future street-legal hypercar known as the Toyota GR Super Sport. The new Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 Hybrid is a rocket with its 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine that’s good for 670 horsepower to the rear wheels and a 268 hp electric motor for the front wheels. The hybrid powertrain should enable the GR010 to be a serious follow up to the TS050 Hybrid LMP1 racer with which Toyota won all three of its Le Mans victories. The street-legal version might be even more powerful since there won’t be a horsepower cap. Watch the GR010 debut at the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship series with the 1,000 miles of Sebring as its first race.
