Beloved Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is sending two pre-owned automotive items to auction in August. That means if you’re willing to pony up some serious money you can be the proud owner of a 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser and/or a 1992 Airstream trailer. Tom Hanks actually personally modified the Land Cruiser with a 2000-year-model 180 horsepower GM V6 engine and a GM-sourced 5-speed manual transmission. Plus, Hanks added Old Man Emu shocks and chrome wheels with Toyo Open Country 31 x 10.50 R 15LT tires. Inside, you’ll find Porsche high back seats and, thankfully, upgraded A/C. The trailer, which Hanks used on set for films between ’93 – ’17, is a 1992 Airstream Model 34 Limited. It’s a simple, cozy, “home away from home” trailer with a sofa, single bed, fireplace, and hardwood flooring. The windows sport stickers from all of the movie sets where the trailer was used. Bonhams, which is handling the auctions, estimate the Land Cruiser will fetch between $75,000 – $125,000 while the Airstream could go for $150,000 to $250,000.
