Whoever said minivans were lame? Well, count on MINI to make its own version with the Vision Urabanaut. Last year, BMW-owned MINI unveiled the Vision Urbanaut as a purely computer-generated concept. But now, they’ve produced an actual, physical car. And it’s 100% awesome. The jellybean-shaped vehicle shows the world what the future of mobility looks like. The fully electric van is more of an experience than it is simple transportation because it utilizes advanced technology and sustainable materials such as cork, Tencel fabric, and wool. The tech modes include “Chill“, “Wanderlust” and “Vibe“, which allow the car to transform. For example, the steering wheel and pedals can tuck away, the windshield can deploy like a big skylight, and the interior turns into a cavernous lounge. The interior lighting was designed to add personality and ambiance, and there are even LED-covered wheels for good measure. Whether or not this will ever see the light of full production remains to be seen, but it’s good to see MINI thinking beyond small cars and crossovers.
