MINI Electric Cooper SE Formula E Pace Car

MINI Electric Cooper SE Formula E Pace Car

MINI’s latest vehicle isn’t for sale, but it’s worth mention because it… is… awesome. This electric Cooper SE is the official pace car of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship race series. It’s basically an “extreme version of the MINI Electric”, and has slick John Cooper Works-inspired styling, as well as weight-saving measures to make it faster and more agile. It boasts features like angled side skirts, a recycled carbon fiber spoiler via 3D printing, a rear diffuser, and special 18″ orange wheels, just because. The interior has racing seats with a six-point harnesses, a steering wheel with carbon fiber impact absorber, a digital instrument cluster, and roll cage. There’s also copious use of carbon fiber all over the interior. 0-60 comes in 6.7 seconds, and it’s silent and emission-free, of course.
