Mercedes Benz Vision AVTR Concept Road Test

Mercedes Benz Vision AVTR Concept Road Test

We’ve seen plenty of unique and futuristic car concepts over the years that were so far afield from anything that would ever see production, but there are few that can compare to the Mercedes Benz Vision AVTR unveiled at CES. The project was spearheaded by renowned designer and Daimler Chief Design Office Gorden Wagener and was reportedly inspired by James Cameron’s film Avatar. Describing this car as “otherworldly” almost does its complete departure from the norm a disservice because from the lack of a steering wheel, to co-driving with the center console, to the holographic tech and screens, to the incredible lines, to the living organism style wheels (that can crab!) this car is nothing short of extraordinary. We never thought something like this would ever even reach functional prototype stage, but Mercedes actually built one and sent it through the road test you can watch here.
