Hyundai’s All-Electric 2022 IONIQ 5

Hyundai’s All-Electric 2022 IONIQ 5

Every vehicle manufacturer is going electric these days for obvious reasons, so it should come as no surprise that, late last year, Hyundai Launched Their IONIQ EV Brand. Plenty of details about styling, models, performance specs, options and release dates were teased at the time, but none of us really knew what to expect from the IONIQ line… until now. Hyundai finally revealed details about the 2022 IONIQ 5–the first vehicle of its kind and the first from what is sure to be an iconic line–it’s nothing short of amazing for what it is. Described as a groundbreaking, brand-new, all-electric SUV, the 2022 IONIQ 5 is a midsize vehicle available with two battery options (58kWh / 72.6 kWh), a rear or front/rear combo motor layout, max range of almost 300 miles and a 0-62 time of just over 5 seconds. The IONIQ 5 is clearly aimed for more streamlined, everyday driving operations, but with these kind of performance specs it will still best most Audis, Bentleys and Bimmers if you want to get into some trouble on the way out of the supermarket.
