There’s nothing quite like the styling, technology and sheer impossibility of production to make you appreciate electric vehicle concepts. The Hyundai Motors “Prophecy” Concept EV was slated to be unveiled at Geneva, but it’s now available for general ogling and discussion because that entire motor show was cancelled on account of Coronavirus. Outside of the Audi TT Roadster meets murdered out Porsche 911 profile, the biggest selling points are the enormous wheels and pixelated light setups like the Bugatti Divo, but this is a gorgeous concept that has a lot more to offer. As SangYup Lee, Head of Hyundai Global Design Center tells it, “We have brought to life yet another icon that establishes a new standard for the EV segment as well as pushing Hyundai’s design vision to even broader horizons. A part of that expansion is what we call Optimistic Futurism, a design concept embodied by ‘Prophecy’. With Optimistic Futurism, our aim is to forge an emotional connection between humans and automobiles.” Even without all that futuristic design mumbo jumbo, it’s a great looking automobile that we hope sees production one day.
