Daniel Young Skateboards in Hawaii makes some of the best slabs of wood you will ever put your feet on. In order to take his business to the next level he needs some funding for a laser engraver, so Young turned to the place everyone goes to these days when they have a cool idea and need some dollars – Kickstarter. He needs to raise $35k for his machine and he’s making it worth everyone’s while starting at $15. Pledge $15 and you get a keychain that looks like one of his boards. Pledge $50 and you get a custom engraved Moleskine or an iPhone veneer and a keychain. At the $250 mark you get a limited edition pin tail skateboard. The same attention to detail that he puts into every handmade board is present in the keychain/iPhone veneer/Moleskine. Even if you don’t want a skateboard you can still do some good and get something out of it.
