Old school Brit carmaker Caterham makes vintage style, analog-minded vehicles that are low to the ground, bespoke, and a hoot to drive. The new Super Seven 2000 is the brand’s latest that celebrates Caterham’s 50th anniversary. While the Super Seven 2000 looks a lot like Super Sevens that came before it, the new car gets a four-cylinder Ford Duratec engine that’s good for 180 horsepower. That’s not a mindboggling figure, but the Super Seven 2000 is so light, that the engine rockets the car to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and tops out at 130 mph. The car also gets a road suspension pack, 14” Classic Alloy wheels, rear roll bar, a chrome filler cap, LED taillights, and some fancy polished exhaust pipes. Inside the small cabin are full leather seats, SMITHS gauges set against a burlwood dash, a racing-style Moto-Lita steering wheel, a short throw manual shift knob, and nothing techy to distract you from the driving experience. For just over $45k, you can even get this rapid roadster stateside as a full car or a kit version.
