Cadillac certainly has its work cut out for it. With the CT6 sedan going away and medicore reviews of its CT5 sedan and XT6 SUV, the brand needs something big. The new LYRIQ is Caddy’s first all-electric vehicle, and it’s a looker. Boasting an intricate black grille with lighting elements, a long wheelbase, an elegant roofline, and a fresh rear lighting signature, it’s as fancy as Cadillac has been in a while. Under the skin is a handsome interior with a massive 33-inch combination driver display and infotainment system. The most important aspect, however, is Caddy’s Ultium system, which aims to deliver 300 miles of range on a single charge, is capable of DC fast-charging systems, and drives either the rear wheels or all four, depending on configuration. The nifty semi-autonomous Super Cruise system will be present, as will a futuristic dual-plane head-up display, remote self-parking, and booming 19-speaker AKG premium sound system. We’ll just have to see if the two-year wait for it to arrive is just a bit too long to keep it competitive.
