Aventon makes some of the highest-rated e-bikes in the industry, and its latest release is meant just as much for hauling as it is for commuting. It’s called the Abound, and it’s the brand’s very first cargo bike. The low-slung and capable e-bike comes replete with a 750W rear hub motor, a new torque sensor for a natural riding experience, four pedal assist modes (Eco, Tour, Sport, and scintillating Turbo), built-in head and taillights, LED turn signals, a backlit LCD display with companion smartphone app, a front suspension fork, and hydraulic disc brakes. The motor gets paired with a removable 720Wh Lithium-ion battery for up to 50 miles of range and a 20 mph top speed with pedal assist. The easy aluminum step-through frame means less tipping risk and easy mounting and dismounting. Add optional features like front and rear cargo racks, pannier bags, and child seats, and you have 440-lb hauling versatility that will make urban errands a cinch with no need for a car.
