While only a concept at this point, Audi’s e-tron GT is a clear signal that the automaker—like many others—has Tesla in its crosshairs. Following in the footsteps of the e-tron SUV and the e-tron Sportback, both due next year, comes the sportiest all-electric vehicle of the bunch, the e-tron GT. Allow us to toss you some numbers. How does 590 hp sound? What about the ability to go from 0 to 62 mph in a zippy 3.5 seconds? Yeah, this slick beast can fly. A low center of gravity was one of the goals when Audi worked closely with Porsche on the design of the e-tron GT, and it’s a goal the brands achieved with style and elegance. You get sculpted wheel arches and shoulders that stand out, along with a flat floor, an element rarely found in all-electric vehicles. All that comes together to form a vehicle that looks like a dart hovering low to the ground. A production model is expected in two years. We’ll start saving now.
