Based on the brand’s awesome S1 Project, the S1 Project Spyder takes the hardtop’s awesomeness and gives it a breath of fresh (and really fast) air. The essentially a Barchetta (“little boat”) version that uses the Corvette C8 as the base vehicle, just like the hardtop version of the S1. The C8’s mid-mounted 6.2-liter small block V8 does power duties but gets pumped via ECU reprogramming and a new exhaust system that push the numbers to 715 horses. Ample amounts of carbon fiber on the body, along with bronze wheels and top-mounted exhaust ports match the dash cowl and the seats. The twin bubble windscreen doesn’t provide much protection, but the wind diffusers help mitigate turbulence in the cabin. The handcrafted interior that’s awash in Nappa leather and Alcantara suede cosset the occupants, as they experience eye-searing performance without a roof. ARES Design will make a yet unannounced limited number of these, so save up your money and use extra glue on that hairpiece.
