Aptera Motors 1,000-Mile Solar-Powered EV

Forget about range anxiety when you’re behind the wheel of the two-passenger Aptera. This is one lean, environmental machine that boasts only ten structural panels (compared to the industry average of 300). What’s more, the body contains integrated solar panels in the roof, hood, and even in the dashboard that help contribute to the astounding 1,000-mile range on a single charge. Solar charging can provide up to 40 miles of range per day in sunny climates. The slippery “reverse-trike” configuration, composite materials, and light weight aid efficiency, but the Aptera is also no slug. It can rocket to 60 mph in under four seconds, and it also has a rigid monocoque structure for ideal rigidity. To top things off, it has an autopilot system that provides semi-autonomous driving capability. Aptera Motors will start deliveries in late 2020, followed by a six-passenger version a couple of years later.
