Holy Toyota, Batman. This murdered out bad boy racer just bowed at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon, and we’re seriously drooling. It’s the direct result of a new homologation mindset at Toyota that a race car can be made into a consumer’s sports car, versus the typical other way around. The rakish race car has an interminably long hood, a deeply creased body, a fastback-style greenhouse, some low and angry aero bits, and a rear spoiler that puts library bookshelves to shame. No other details have been shared, but Toyota Gazoo Racing President Koji Sato said they will build a prototype GR GT3 in 2022. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that a production version will follow. Hot damn.
