When it comes to home audio, unless you want to build out a full setup of individual components yourself (and spend thousands of dollars), Sonos has some of the best options on the market. Their stylish, well-built speakers have developed a cult following over the years because they sound as good as they look. Now, Sonos is getting into the content game with the new Sonos Radio streaming service. Sonos has never really played favorites with the content you want to listen to through their speakers in the past, but the app will now have Sonos Radio pre-loaded. This isn’t a bad thing because Sonos Radio capitalizes on our ever-increasing desire to listen to radio the way it used to be before streaming was a thing. You’ll be able to get NPR, news, sports radio through the app, along with independent programming under the Sonos Presents section that includes “new, well-known, or rediscovered music, behind-the-scenes stories, as well as guest artist radio hours.” There’s also a Sonos Stations curated section with options like Sunset Fuzz, Blues Masters, Global Pulse and 80s Flash that function a lot like the AI-curated options you’re familiar with from Pandora / Spotify. If Sonos is part of your ecosystem, Sonos Radio is a no-brainer.
