Something electric and wicked this way comes out of Scotland The Munro EV looks like it was carved out of a block of iron with its squared-off body and very black shell. It’s powered by either a 295 hp or a 375 hp motor paired with 61.0-kWh and 81.0-kWh battery packs, respectively. It will get 190 miles of range on the European WLTP test or a bit less than 170 miles in the U.S. It should be able to accelerate to 62 mph from a dead stop in 4.9-second for the most powerful trim. The Mk1 will get steel-frame ladder chassis, a low-range transfer case, a locking center diff, and permanent four-wheel drive. It should also be able to tow up to 7,700 pounds. For those interested in going off pavement, the Mk1 has 18.9-inches of ground clearance and a 31.5-inch wading depth. It’s going through funding now, and the company hopes to build upwards of 2,500 units per year at a price of about $115k. Whether or not it makes it to the U.S. remains to be seen.
