The even more luxurious arm of Mercedes-Benz, known as Mercedes-Maybach, has just revealed its first PHEV. The new S 580e looks just like an uber-fancified S Class, but underneath is a powertrain that combines a turbocharged six-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor for 510 horsepower, 553 lb-ft of twist, a 0-60 sprint in 5.1 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph. If that sounds tasty, get a load of the impressive 62 miles of all-electric range that should easily get you to and from the boardroom meeting without the use of gas. The car also supports rapid DC fast-charging that juices you up in 30 minutes. Of course, all of the requisite luxury appointment inside will be standard with options to upgrade almost everything, as well. The S 580e will sell overseas, and no U.S. release has been confirmed.
