If you come across a 1965 Shelby Cobra, it’s a sight to behold. If it happens to have a hand-formed 100% copper body, that much more so. The folks at Kirkham Motorsports built the body using 17 individual solid copper panels are highly polished and exhibit no visible seams, a feat in and of itself. There were no high tech processes involved but rather old-school hand-forming at its finest. The symmetry from side-to-side is flawless, and there was no paint or plating used whatsoever. The car is powered by a hand-built 427 FE engine from Carroll Shelby, and its output is rated at 550 horsepower, controlled by a 5-speed manual transmission. It’s now up for auction by Sotheby’s, and expect the winning bidder to get looks wherever he (or she) goes.
