The short answer is: maybe. Nissan hasn’t officially announced anything yet, but there has been extensive reporting that the automaker has been planning to release an electric truck for the American market. Nissan has already announced that it plans to unveil 19 new EVs by 2030 and they’ve released concept imagery for an electric pickup truck so it’s very possible those designs could lead to a production model. The strongest example we have is the Nissan Surf-out, an off-road pickup that includes an advanced version of Nissan’s e-Force AWD.
If we are to see an electric pickup from Nissan, it likely will take a few years before it hits the market. Ultimately, at the time of writing, nothing has been confirmed but we expect that whatever Nissan rolls out will be an impressive addition to the electric truck industry. Nissan has confirmed that would “aim for affordability” with any new releases so it’s worth keeping an eye on any potential future Nissan electric pickup trucks.
