‘Forever and a Day’ Is James Bond’s Origin Story

Ian Fleming, the author and creator of the James Bond character, passed away in 1964, so it seems somewhat blasphemous that we’re getting a Bond origin story now, some 50+ years after his death. Allow us to quell those fears. Forever and a Day features original material from Fleming, as Anthony Horowitz, the co-author of the novel, was granted access to Fleming’s archives in the creation of this tale. Set shortly before Casino Royale, the first Bond book, Forever and a Day details the early days of Bond as 007, after the previous 007 is found dead in the waters of Marseille. From there Bond takes to the seedy underbelly of the French Riviera to make a name for himself. Shake yourself up a martini and sit down with this on a lazy Sunday.
